Graveyard

So... I'm not the kind of witch that hangs out in graveyards. But the graveyard near my house always seems to attract my attention every autumn. There's a different energy to this place that is less pronounced at other times of year. I also really like the old, creepy tree that seems to stand as a silent sentinel. It seems to be like a guardian of some kind. It's really cool. :)

  1. My brothers and I were flabbergasted when our parents informed us while they were dating they often went to the local graveyards. Yes, where they worked was located near very historical graves, but we were bewildered 'why?". Now I know!

  2. Of course, some of the grave stones double as works of art. And, despite that graveyards are places of death, it always seems as if life of all kinds flourish there. Trees, shrubs, flowers, grasses, insects, birds, and rodents are almost always found in graveyards.

  3. Foam: Of course, my idea about graveyards is that the sensation of presence doesn't come from the spirits of the dead since people get *buried* in graveyards, but they don't actually *die* there. Instead, I think the sensation of power comes from the accumulated devotional energy of the living who go there to visit the graveyards. The desire to commune with a loved one that has passed over is a powerful and personal thing and it likely leaves a significant psychic imprint behind.
